purpose: ~onigiri101's SERIOUS birthday present
character: Kairi from Kingdom Hearts II in her school uniform. I wouldn't mind if my school made us wear school uniforms like that~
equip: a mechanical pencil with 0.7 lead and an eraser for the sketch; Photoshop 7 for the final draft
assist: ~KimKimsGalore on layers and skin colour
time: HOURS! x_x (But yes, I took longer than I should have because I'm slow.)

I felt rather frustrated of what I drew for my friends as birthday presents, so I vowed to myself that from now on, everything that I would make as presents would be SERIOUS WORK! Thus, this is a SERIOUS birthday present, and because I already recently made something for Onigiri, this is a SERIOUS remake - er, redo.
[On a more serious note (LOL), when I say "serious birthday present", I don't mean that the mood of the artwork will also have to be serious. I'll just be putting lots of effort into the work itself.]
At first I was going to draw Lulu (Code Geass's Lelouch) for ~KimKimsGalore's birthday present instead of Onigiri's present because my indecision on the latter's present was driving me nuts, but after a few attempts on Lulu, I gave up and well, whaddaya know~ Lulu transformed into Kairi! This turned out to be a good thing because the ending idea conformed with Onigiri's requirements of her SRS present, which was something either school- or summer-related. Combine the two and bada-bing, bada-boom - SUMMER SCHOOL! The best of both worlds!

The most painstaking part had to be the colouring and the shading. I am very new to shading, so that was particularly maddening to do. I must confess though: I pretty much copied the shading from the Kingdom Hearts II game case. I also copied a lot of other things, but I'm glad the final product didn't look like an enlarged copy of the original.
Improvements I could've made?
Put creases on the shirt 
Shade the face and the hair (I left them alone because I thought they looked okay like that, but maybe...)
Create a better background. But you know, there's some meaning in the colours. In my eyes, Kairi's thinking about Sora (something tells me she does that a lot), and "Sora" is Japanese for "sky." So yeah, blue and white.
Incidentally, I had Epik High's One Minute, One Second in my head while sketching out the outline, which led to the title of this deviation. Thanks to my cousin for showing it to me.
P.S. Would someone knowledgeable in grammar tell me how to use the colon? I read Garner's Modern American Usage for help, but I still didn't get it.
